Our Acoustic Laminate Underlay for beneath laminate floors is designed specifically to reduce impact noise from footfalls and furniture being moved on laminate, thin engineered wood and solid timber floors. Impact noise is easily generated on hard floor surfaces along with additional airborne noise so including an effective sound absorber such as Acoustic Laminate Underlay beneath them to reduce noise nuisance to people below.

The acoustic underlay is made up of a 4.2mm layer of high density resilient closed cell rubber with a foil moisture barrier laminated to one side. The product can easily be trimmed with a knife or scissors and if used in conjunction with at least two layers of our SBM5 soundproofing mats it will give additonal airborne noise reduction through the floor at minimum thickness.

For further soundproofing imptovements, AMW100 Acoustic Mineral Wool or the more effective SoundBlocker Quilt should be installed between the joists before installing a new floor.
